Figurative art is simply defined as creating a painting that retains a visual reference to reality. The reference can range from hyperrealistic and realistic to moderately figurative, it does not need to be exact. As long as one may recognise the figure form it is identified as figurative. It can represent a lanscape, a house, an urban scene, a portrait, any creature, a family gathering, or a social event.
